Snapshots on Christ given through Prophets
Israel strongest during David’s time
Broke into N & S kingdom
N & S kingdom exiled
Until today the “hottest” place on earth

“Deliverers will go up on Mount Zion to govern the mountains of Esau. And the kingdom will be the Lord’s.”
‭‭Obadiah‬ ‭1:21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Christ will come as King of Jerusalem
INIR (Latin) – Jesus of Nazereth King of the Jews

““And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.”
‭‭Joel‬ ‭2:28‬ ‭NIV

Pour out his Spirit on all people

“He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:39-40‬ ‭NIV‬

Seek Me & live
Acts 15:15f
Amos asked people to come back to God
God including the Gentiles in His kingdom

Warn them to turn back before disaster
Death given a death blow by Christ

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

“Look, there on the mountains, the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace! Celebrate your festivals, Judah, and fulfill your vows. No more will the wicked invade you; they will be completely destroyed.”
‭‭Nahum‬ ‭1:15‬ ‭NIV‬

How beautiful is the one who brings good news

“On that day they will say to Jerusalem, “Do not fear, Zion; do not let your hands hang limp. The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.””
‭‭Zephaniah‬ ‭3:16-17‬ NIV

““See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright— but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness —”
‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭2:4‬ ‭NIV

Who will survive?
The righteous will live by faith

“In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭23:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When God sees us believe in Jesus, he sees us as righteous

““Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look around and see. Is any suffering like my suffering that was inflicted on me, that the Lord brought on me in the day of his fierce anger?”
‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭1:12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Can be used to also represent Christ on the cross

Prophets after exile:

“I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend them; he will tend them and be their shepherd. I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them. I the Lord have spoken.”

Back from exile

“I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty.”
‭‭Haggai‬ ‭2:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”
‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭9:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

““I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty.”
‭‭Malachi‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Bible not a history book but will tell us what will happen.

World is dark but light as Christ is coming again

“He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭2:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬
