Thursday prayer meeting sharing on grace
“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach Godʼs throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Hebrews 4:14-16 NIV
Grace is only for Christians.
Grace is a facet of God’s character.
God in His love towards us has given us a lot of things that we take for granted.
A tremendous area of our victory.
We can hold firmly, nothing can shake us.
High priest that has gone through all human suffering.
He understood because had undergone all the suffering.
Concerns can be brought up to this high priest.
Can bring anything up to him – to lay before Him all the comfort we need.
An invitation to us as we are presently saved & doing the will of God.
We may face certain problems or setback.
The throne of grace is available for us to approach in our time of need.
Grace, no longer by works.
Grace is following up on the unlovable & making it lovely.
Grace is more than mercy & love.
This love is from a sovereign God.
He took on flesh to die for our sins.
It’s God’s grace that saves us.
Grace is a character of God only experienced by those who have a special relationship with Him.
Accepting God as savior & restoring that relationship.
His love and His mercy reserved for His elect.
The way of salvation is already established with God’s foreknowledge.
God will watch over us until the very end.
Grace cannot be bought, sold or merited.
We cannot earn His grace
It is by grace we haven saved.
We have an inheritance that is very sure for we are co-heirs with Christ.
